True Colors, created and copyrighted in 2007, is a genuinely charming collection of torn paper collage characters, each with their own distinctive identity — bright, whimsical, childlike yet sophisticated, and full of personality. My studio was a shoe box that originally contained a 4” x 3” sketchpad, colored card stock, and a bottle of Elmer’s glue. The only tool was my fingertips. I was able to work just about anywhere…it went with me on trains and road trips.
Currently, a 2026 cast of characters are being added. Created on 5” x 3” heavyweight paper, with fingertips and a bottle of glue, the possibilities are endless. The process remains full of unscripted joy overflowing with gestural delight!
